How cool is this

I've previously posted how much I love writing/sketching in my Moleskine. It's old-school bohemian groovyness is just good for the soul.

Now thanks to this guy I can transfer that goodness to my computers with a hard disk enclosure.

Check out the slide show here.

  2. I really like the juxtaposition of "analog" and digital. I always thought it would be cool to have a computer that had an old-timey wood case with brass corners, maybe an old-time typewriter keyboard.

  3. Oh Christ! I've thought the same thing for years.

There is actually an artist who does that. Sort of.

He makes these exquisitely crafted, exotic wood cases with intricate inlay and detail. They are incredibly expensive works of art. Around something that will be obsolete in 18 months.

I always thought there would be a market for something less exquisite, and less artistic but completely retro. As you say, wood, brass and maybe even analog instead of digital, but for a reasonable and competitive price.

    Hell, it's even "green".

  4. Hey, I think we have a budding business idea here.

Okay, you take care of building the computer cases and selling them, and I'll take care of collecting and spending all of the money.

    Deal?
