Fellowship of the Funk

The local blogosphere seems to be pretty unanimously agreed that former KCMO auditor Mark Funkhouser is a great candidate for Mayor.

For what it's worth (which isn't much since I don't live in KCMO and can't vote there (legally)), I agree.

But there is something that leaves just a tinge of doubt in my mind. I'm not sure what it is. Can't quite put my finger on it...

  1. Oh snap! I knew this guy looked like somebody but I couldn't place it. Thank you for settling it for me. Agreed that there is a STRONG resemblance and I also think that even SAM (Lamest of all LOTR characters) could garner 5% of the vote in this crowded field.

  2. That's fucking hilarious!!

If he's elected, I'm going to start referring to City Hall as Orthanc.

Let's hope The Funk's career path takes a happier course than Saruman's

  3. So how about Sam Brownback contemplating a presidential bid? That's got some people dry-heaving at this point....

  4. Andrew,

Don't even get me started on Brownback. In a former life, I interviewed him for an article about Senate candidates. I asked him point blank if he considered a Senate seat as a stepping stone to the big chair (presidency). He said no, he has never had aspirations to the presidency. That's when I knew he was a true politician.
