Amelie Friday, back by popular demand

All of the avid readers of this blog (well okay, one of the few readers of this blog) are demanding (well, casually inquiring) that Amelie Friday make its triumphant return to Three O'Clock in the Morning.

Well, far be it from me to disappoint (actually, that's what I do best, but do let's proceed).

Here's how it works: I list three things I like and three things I dislike from the previous week. Then, you add your own list in the comments.

Here’s my list for this week:

Things I Like
  • Three-day weekends (who doesn't like that???)
  • Dinner and drinks on the corporate card
  • Boulevard Wheat on the deck at O'Dowd's on a sunny afternoon
Things I Dislike
  • When the week-old bag of stinking, rotting, fermented grass clippings breaks open all over my legs as I'm bringing it to the curb the night before trash day.
  • corporate reorgs (who doesn't hate that??)
  • Having high expectations dashed by mediocre novel writing
Okay, that’s my list for this week. Add your own list of likes/dislikes in the comments section. Or better yet, post them on your blog and let me know so I can link to them. Let's make this a regular thing.

Have a great weekend.

Here they are:

*I'm referring of course to Jesus Hernandez, the two-month-old son of the couple who moved into the house down the street recently. Welcome to the neighborhood, Hernandezes

Amelie Friday

In case you haven't noticed, it's Friday again. So let's play the Amelie Game.

If this is you're first time, here are the rules: three likes and three dislikes from the previous week. I'll start with dislikes:

Dislikes:
  • Slow elevators
  • When people only go up one floor on the slow elevator (instead of taking the stairs)
  • When you get on the slow elevator and have to stop on every freakin' floor before you get to your own.
Likes:Okay, now it's your turn. Leave your likes and dislikes in the comments. Wise asses are especially encouraged to reply.

Hey, let's play the Amelie Game

It's been a while, but I've decided to bring back The Amelie Game.

Here's how it works: I list three things I like and three things I dislike from the previous week. Then, you add your own list in the comments.

So here we go with this week's likes and dislikes:

Things I like
  • St. Patrick's Day (even if it's freezing)
  • New season of The Sopranos (Can you believe Tony got shot in the very first episode of the season?!?!)
  • YouTube (this one is great!)

Things I dislike
Okay, now let's see what you like/dislike this week. And remember, if you don't add your comments, you're letting the terrorists win.

Let’s play the Amelie Game

It’s Friday. So in the ancient tradition that I just made up, it’s time to play the Amelie Game. If you’ve ever seen the movie Amelie, you know about the lists of likes and dislikes made by the main character (coincidentally enough named Amelie) throughout the film.

Here’s my list for this week:

Things I Like

  1. The tangy scent of decomposing leaves
  2. Musician’s Friend
  3. Bluetooth

Things I Dislike

  1. Pumpkin-eating squirrels
  2. lunch meetings
  3. flat tires

There you go, add your own lists of likes/dislikes (three each please) in the comments section.

PS – If you haven’t yet, subscribe to The Delta Park Project podcast, the inspiration of this post and for which it is a blatant rip off — er, homage.

The Amelie game

One of my fav foreign films (foreign to me, that is, not to the French) is Amelie. If you’ve ever seen the movie, or listened to The Delta Park Project, you know about the lists of likes and dislikes that the main character (coincidentally enough named Amelie) makes throughout the movie.

Well, here’s my list for today:

Things I Like
  1. Vino Nobile
  2. Loose Park
  3. football season

Things I Dislike
  1. Monday morning
  2. coffee from the office machine
  3. open-mouth chewing

Okay, that’s my list from today. Add your own lists of likes/dislikes (three each per day) in the comments section.
